DIY Escort Cards

by Kate 28. July 2010 21:24

If you aren't already reading DesignSponge on a daily basis then you should start...TODAY!  I can't get enough of these "love logs" they posted today.  They are a great, eco-friendly DIY craft project that would be amazing for a green wedding!  I love the idea of using them as escort cards but there are so many other things you could do with them as well!  Head on over to DesignSponge for the full DIY tutorial.

Paperless Seating Arrangements

by Kate 23. July 2010 04:21

One way to go green with your wedding is to limit the amount of paper you use. However, in some areas this can be extremely difficult; especially when it comes to the seating arrangement for your guests! It often seems like you can never get away from using paper.  I have seen a lot of weddings online where the bride and groom have used chalkboards or even windows to display this information although I have yet to see it in person. Although it looks very chic I do worry about the logistics; especially with the windows!  Do you think your grandparents or elderly relatives would be able to read it?  Have you ever been to a wedding where the seating chart was posted on a recycled window or chalkboard?  Were you able to read it?  We would love for you to share your thoughts and experiences with paperless seating charts with us!

I don't know if it is because we just had the Fourth of July but I found this step-by-step tutorial on a DIY S'more kit on Project Wedding and fell in love. How cute would this be as a favor for your guests if you were having a summer wedding?  I guarantee your guests would use them!  It looks relatively easy as well; the instructions are lined out here.

Happy Fourth of July!

by Kate 3. July 2010 02:08

Happy (almost) Fourth of July!  Personally I love the fourth because it gives me an excuse to get away for a night or two, sleep in a tent, play with sparklers, eat delicious food and celebrate with family and friends.  I love researching simple ways to incorporate the holidays into your festivities and this week I came across two simple yet chic ideas. For any of you bakers out there this post is for you:

First of all, anyone who knows me and if you follow Emerald Weddings on our twitter account, you can probably tell that I am OBSESSED with cupcakes. I absolutely love everything about them so of course I love this step by step tutorial for making Fourth of July cupcakes!
