If you aren't already reading DesignSponge on a daily basis then you should start...TODAY! I can't get enough of these "love logs" they posted today. They are a great, eco-friendly DIY craft project that would be amazing for a green wedding! I love the idea of using them as escort cards but there are so many other things you could do with them as well! Head on over to DesignSponge for the full DIY tutorial.

I don't know if it is because we just had the Fourth of July but I found this step-by-step tutorial on a DIY S'more kit on Project Wedding and fell in love. How cute would this be as a favor for your guests if you were having a summer wedding? I guarantee your guests would use them! It looks relatively easy as well; the instructions are lined out here.

Monica and I are currently working with a client whose wedding reception is this Spring. The groom’s aunt owns a lavender farm outside of Seattle, Washington and we have been playing with various design ideas and ways in which we can incorporate lavender into their reception. These images have been inspiring us. I love the idea of potted lavender plants but then I also love the centerpiece that mixes lavender with mint! It just sounds and looks so delicious! What do you think?

I love the idea of sourcing locally as much as possible for your wedding. Not only are you reducing the total carbon footprint of your wedding but by sourcing locally you also help to promote and sustain the community in which you live. Here in Seattle we are lucky to have such a plethora of talented, local vendors. Lately I have been obsessing over Simply Seattle Chocolates. They have a storefront downtown and offer a wide selection of chocolates sourced from all over the Pacific Northwest (some are even fair trade).

Their chocolates are absolutely delicious and I think they would make such a cute wedding favor! I love the idea of buying a box and putting a single chocolate on each guests chair. Trust me they will definitely get eaten!
Here is an example of what they would look like at your reception:

Monica and I are currently planning a green wedding reception in Seattle with a strict budget. We have been exploring various eco-friendly centerpiece and favor ideas and I just can't let go of the idea of using herbs! The groom comes from a large Italian family and they will be serving Italian food to all their guests. Herb and moss centerpieces seem like the perfect fit for this reception given their low cost and compliment to the Italian food. These images have been inspiring me. What do you think? We would love to know your thoughts!

You can even have a living moss ring pillow!
