Fabric Flower Obsession at its best

by Kate 18. February 2010 20:36

I have to admit I am completely obsessed with fabric flowers and birdcage veils (more on veils in a later post).  If used properly they can really showcase your personality and sense of style.  They are so chic and can be used in various ways to accent your wedding attire.  I think they look great on a clutch, in your hair, on a shawl,  on the back of your dress to accent your sash, etc.

One of the great things about being a Seattle bride is that you have a plethora of talented, green and local vendors at your fingertips.  If you are interested in fabric flowers we have our own talented expert right here in Seattle. Cindi, is a local Seattle eco-entrepreneur and the owner of Brass Paper Clip.  She created all of the fabric flowers below and you can see more of her work on Eco Etsy Weddings.  If any of you green brides decide to use fabric flowers on your wedding day, please send us pictures!  We would love to see them in action on our readers.

Unleash your creativity!

by Kate 4. January 2010 20:37

A great way to showcase your personal style on your wedding day is through your wedding accessories.  Accessorizing your outfit with shoes, jewelry and bags that speak to your distinct style is not only fun but also helps to reduce your wedding expenses!  You can choose to wear a pair of shoes or earrings you already have, or, purchase new ones that you will wear after your wedding.   I just love the idea of colored shoes.  I wore navy blue for my own wedding so I might be a bit biased but I love seeing them peep through in my wedding pictures.  Here are a few shoes to inspire you to play with color and some more images so you can see what they look like on a bride.

Green your Bling!

by Kate 30. December 2009 19:23

Although most of you reading this most likely already have an engagement ring on your left finger, you may still be looking for that perfect wedding band or jewelry to wear on your wedding day.  A friend of mine recently told me about C5, a sustainable jewelry company offering chic and beautiful ethically sourced jewelry. All of their jewelry is made of 100% recycled precious metals and ethically sourced gems and diamonds.  I fell in love with some of their pieces on their flickr page.  If you are still in need of jewelry for your wedding day I would recommend checking out their selection.

Lela Rose Bridesmaid Dresses

by Kate 26. October 2009 23:14

I came across some gorgeous bridesmaid dresses on Martha Stewart Weddings blog that I had to share.  I love the colors and the style of these dresses!  They are fun and flirty but also appropriate for a wedding.  I think your bridesmaids would love these dresses and they can easily be worn again!  I am sure your bridesmaids could wear them as a guest to another wedding or even to a party or social event.  This would make your green wedding even more environmentally friendly!  If you like these styles I would recommend checking out the designer, Lela Rose's website.

Greening your Garter!

by Kate 16. October 2009 07:59

Who knew on your wedding day you might actually be wearing a plastic water bottle?  It is crazy what design and inspiration can create!  I love that Julianne Smith (aka "Garter Girl") just launched a new line of green garters made out of plastic water bottles!  They are so cute!  Check out her website and more info on them here.
