Have you been searching for ways to be more eco-friendly at home? Method, a San Francisco based green cleaning company just made it a lot easier. They recently released a Cradle to Cradle certified laundry detergent that uses less water and is made of 95% natural and renewable ingredients. The packaging is more efficient, using less laundry and cutting down on waste by allowing users to pump instead of pour the laundry into a cap. They also state you can get 50 loads of laundry out of this small bottle! I guess less really is more with this one!

Are you still searching for something to get your mother, friend, niece or nephew this holiday season? I came across Treadlight Gifts, a Seattle based company a while ago through Twitter and have been looking for the right time to introduce them to our followers. With Christmas just around the corner, I can't think of a better time.
They offer a selection of chic, eco-friendly gifts for men, women and children. All of their products have at least one of the following characteristics:
Organic
Recycled
Eco-friendly
Sustainable
Fair Trade and or Fair Labor
Manufactured by companies with a commitment to the environment
In addition, their gift baskets are packaged in organic cotton totes, they reuse boxes and packaging and offset the shipping for all their products. These gifts are a wonderful way to express your love to someone without harming the planet in the process. Just take a look at some of their products below or visit their website. Happy Holidays!

Monica and I have been following the search for an eco-model closely through Project Green Search on our blog for awhile. (You may remember these postings back in August and again in October). We are proud to inform you that a winner has been selected! Rachel Avalon from Los Angeles is the new eco-model and according to ecorazzi she will be appearing in Organic Spa Magazine, Coco Eco Magazine, Peppermint Magazine and more. You can read about her bio here and watch her video on eco-friendly wrapping here. Congratulations Rachel! We can't wait to hear more about your ideas for a greener future!

Although this post is not wedding related, it should bring all you green Seattle brides a sense of pride for your city and its citizens. This past spring a group of students from Ballard high school won the award for the Best Global Impact from Washington State University for their innovative hydroponic project titled "Image Tomorrow". (Hydroponics is a type of farming that actually doesn't require soil. It is a highly efficient way of farming produce as it uses less water, less space and actually produces more plants than conventional farming). These Ballard students built a model vertical farm (pictured below) using filtered rainwater (we all know Seattle has plenty of this) and beat their competition by taking an innovative approach to farming and global warming. You can read more about it here but we just wanted to say congratulations to Scott Mills, Amelia Slick, Elise LaRussa and Mareya Welsh! We love hearing about the success and innovation of Seattle's citizens!
