I saw this come through Twitter the other day and wanted to share it with all you vintage brides having a Seattle wedding.
Gossamer Collective is hosting a Vintage Wedding fair this Saturday, March 20th from 12-6pm.
“Gossamer is providing an alternative to the overwhelming, overpriced wedding service options:
~ A beautiful afternoon for you to come and meet local vendors that specialize in budget-friendly weddings with a “vintage” flair ~”
This sounds like a great opportunity to meet with local Seattle wedding vendors (photography, make-up, invitations, caterer etc) while sipping on some champagne! The entry fee is $8 and you can find more information on the event here. Let us know if you decide to attend!

I came across this story yesterday and thought it was too good not to share with everyone. Peter and Andrea, a Spokane couple are currently planning a modest, community centered wedding full of DIY decorations, potluck food, homebrew and assistance from family and friends with flowers and photography. Their plan? To do their entire wedding for $4,000 by recycling 400,000 aluminum cans and saving approximately 50 tons of CO2!
I LOVE THIS!

What an amazing way to "save the environment and throw a killer party at the same time" as they state on their own website. They will be collecting the cans themselves and are also accepting "can donations" which you can learn more about here. They started their website on December 7, 2009 and have already attracted tons of press from all over the country. I can't wait to watch this story unfold and Emerald Weddings will definitely be making a "can donation" to assist them with their cause!
